WHERE TO START
Check For Projects In Your Area
Community solar can be a great option for businesses or people who prefer not to install solar panels on their roofs or be responsible for the solar system or it’s costs. Subscribing to a community solar project does not change your electric supplier.
There is no cost to participate in a community solar project, and in most cases, once you subscribe to a community solar project, the resulting savings are simply applied directly to your electric bill. You don’t need to do anything else.
Community solar projects are underway nationwide, but with high demand and finite capacity, these projects quickly reach full subscription capacity.

How Does Community Solar Work?
Community solar projects generate electricity from sunlight and the electricity flows through a meter to the utility grid. With Community Solar USA – community solar subscribers ( i.e., businesses, households or other electricity customer ) receive billing credits on their electric bill for electricity generated by the community solar project. The local utility pays the community solar provider for the energy generated and each subscriber receives a portion of the dollar value generated by their community solar subscription as a credit. This credit in some utilities is applied directly to a subscriber’s monthly electric bill, helping to reduce customers’ electricity costs.
How Community Solar USA Can Help
Clean Peak Energy Group, LLC (“Community Solar USA”) works with multiple community solar subscriber organizations and developers providing consumers access to a potential array of available community solar offers through multiple subscriber organizations.
Billing Credits
Community solar subscribers can generally get either a discount on their electric bill for the billing credits provided by the community
solar project or get a discount on the billing credits provided depending on the rules and availability in their area.
Consumer Protections
Community solar programs incorporate key
consumer protections to ensure subscribers
receive strong benefits.
Access to All
Community solar can allow all eligible business and households and businesses to access the benefits of solar energy, such as lower electricity costs, regardless of whether they’re able to host a system on their own roof. In addition to savings, other benefits of community solar include community wealth building, and local job creation.
